A reminder: the warning here for us is of seven deadly sins in the end times - (1) demon worship, (2) idolatry, (3) murder, (4) magic arts/witchcraft, (5) sexual immorality, (6) theft, and refusal to repent.
Acts 3:19 “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”.
Proverbs 28:13, KJV “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
” This is both tragic and spiritually destructive, since it is sincere repentance, coupled with faith in Jesus Christ, that spares us from the wrath of God.
Notice first the key statement in these verses - “ did not repent.
The context makes it clear that these are sins that will be especially prevalent among those living in the end times. The apostle John prophesied of seven prevalent, deadly sins in the end times - (1) demon worship, (2) idolatry, (3) murder, (4) magic arts/witchcraft, (5) sexual immorality, (6) theft, and (7) refusal to repent.
The Book of Revelation, from chapter 4:1 on, was primarily a prophecy of the end of days.
Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts. The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood - idols that cannot see or hear or walk. A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths.
